While Perth Glory continue to toil at the wrong end of the A-League ladder, frontrunners Auckland FC are the last team head coach David Zdrilic and his side would like to face.
However, that’s exactly what Saturday will provide, as Auckland make the long trip to the west coast to take on the Glory at HBF Park.
This will be the first-ever meeting between the two sides and one that could be a one-sided affair in Perth.

Perth desperate to stop the rot
Currently on a three-game losing streak, just three points separate Perth and rock-bottom Brisbane Roar in the A-League standings.
Most troubling for the Glory has been the rate in which they have been conceding, allowing exactly three goals past them in their last three outings against Macarthur, Western United and Sydney FC.
Perth’s only win this season in the A-League has come against strugglers Brisbane and the Glory have managed to lose all of their home games at HBF Park this term.
None of that makes happy ready for Perth supporters, who wait with trepidation and A-League new boys Auckland prepare to rock up to HBF Park for the first time this weekend.
Auckland continue to set the pace
Despite a goalless draw against Melbourne Victory at Go Media Stadium last time out, Auckland are still the frontrunners going into this weekend’s fixtures.
Not losing a single away game in the A-League this season, the competition’s newcomers have been extremely impressive on the road.
With three wins and a draw in that time, head coach Steve Corica and his side have shown they hold no fears about going to the homes of established teams and playing their game.
They certainly won’t have any concerns about a trip to HBF Park this weekend, with Perth’s home form the worst in the division.
