Fresh from winning the UEFA Champions League, PSG get their Club World Cup campaign underway with a tough test against Atletico Madrid in Los Angeles in the early hours of Monday morning.

With the celebrations of their historic 5-0 thrashing of Inter Milan out of the way, the Parisians can now turn their focus to winning more silverware, with Atleti first up.

Both teams should have no trouble making it through a group that also contains Brazilian side Botafogo and also Seattle Sounders, but they will still be keen to get off to a winning start.

The match takes place at the Rose Bowl Stadium in LA and has all the makings to be an exciting one, with PSG's Spanish head coach Luis Enrique coming up against his fellow countrymen.

Parisians eye a winning start

Having already been crowned the champions of Europe, PSG now have their eyes on conquering the world.

The Parisians are one of the hot fancies to go all the way and win the competition, so will be keen to stamp their authority early on.

They have only met Atleti on two previous occasions and have yet to beat them, so have some added incentive to get the job done, especially as the men from Madrid won 2-1 in Paris during the league phase of the UEFA Champions League earlier this season.

The French outfit recoverd and showed all of their class when smashing Inter 5-0 in the UEFA Champions League final and it could be another high-scoring affair against Atletico and over 2.50 goals in the game can be backed at 1.70.

Ousmane Dembele, who has enjoyed a career-best season and scored 30 goals in all competitions, should once again be the main man for PSG and is priced at 2.30 to grab a goal at anytime.

However, he is a doubt due to injury, with Bradley Barcola the most likely starter if Dembele is ruled out.

Atletico out for another upset

Atletico are undefeated against PSG, but it will still be viewed as a big upset if they start the Club World Cup with a victory.

They finished the La Liga season strongly with two wins, leaving them in third spot on the ladder behind champions Barcelona and second-placed Real Madrid.

The last time they faced PSG was in the UEFA Champions League as recently November 2024 and they nicked a 2-1 victory in the French capital thanks to a last-minute Angel Correa winner - he can be backed at 3.60 to score again at anytime in this match.

Meanwhile, another 2-1 victory for the Spaniards can be backed at 13.00.
