PSG v Bayern Munich: Club World Cup preview

PSG and Bayern Munich meet in perhaps the most eye-catching of the quarter-final ties at the Club World Cup, at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta.

The European powerhouses have faced each other on 10 previous occasions, with Bayern having the upper hand with four wins.

PSG are the current UEFA Champions League champions, however, and will fancy their chances of gaining some revenge on the German giants.

Both sides have impressed at the tournament so far and the goals have been flowing, which bodes well for this encounter.

A semi-final date with either Real Madrid or Borussia Dortmund awaits the winner in what is the most difficult half of the draw.

But for now all the focus is on the quarter-finals and an exciting clash looks to be on the cards at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta in the early hours of Sunday morning.

Goals are flowing for PSG

PSG have had just the one slip-up at the Club World Cup, losing 1-0 to Botafogo during the group stage, but apart from that they have been in good form.

The UEFA Champions League winners booked their place in the quarter-finals with a dominant 4-0 victory over Inter Miami.

That is not the only time they have bagged four goals, with the Parisians having also seen off Atletico Madrid 4-0 in their opening game.

Ousmane Dembele has yet to score in the tournament, having missed a large part of the action due to injury, but there would be no better time to open his account.

He can be backed at 6.00 to score the first goal of the game, or 2.30 to score at anytime.

PSG have won just one game out of 10 against Bayern, with five of the meetings ending in draws.

Recent meetings have been low scoring, with no more than two goals netted in any of the last four match-ups.

With that in mind, under 2.5 goals in the game can be backed at 2.40.

Bayern have edge over PSG

PSG may be the hot fancies heading into the quarter-final, but Bayern have had the edge over them in recent meetings.

Indeed, they have won the last four, three of them 1-0, the other 2-0 and Bayern can be backed at 15.00 to beat PSG 1-0 on Sunday.

Bayern also head into the quarter-finals in good touch after beating Flamengo 4-2 in their Round of 16 clash.

England striker Harry Kane was in good form when scoring two goals in that victory and he is priced at 5.50 to score the first of the game against PSG.

Kane has scored three goals in the tournament so far, a tally matched by his team-mates Jamal Musiala and Michael Olise.
