Adelaide United head to Sydney FC on Saturday on the back of a good run of results that have taken them up to second place on the A-League ladder.

The Reds have won three and drawn one to sit just two points behind leaders Auckland FC, having played a game less.

It is important that they keep the results coming to keep the pressure on, and they will be out for the three points at Allianz Stadium.

Sydney, on the other hand, head into the match on the back of two straight defeats and have work to do if they are to make the top six.

They are currently seventh, one point behind Melbourne Victory in sixth, and although there is still time, they cannot afford many more slip ups.

Sydney scored three goals in each of those games and are leading the way when it comes to hitting the back of the net this season.

They have 32 to their name, and Joe Lolley is the A-League’s leading goalscorer with eight from 13 games, while Patryk Klimala and Adrian Segecic have five.

Conceding goals has been an issue though and they have leaked 26.

Their form on home soil has been mixed in this campaign, winning four but losing three at Allianz Stadium.

Adelaide have won three and drawn one in the last four games, and will head to Sydney in a confident mood.

Two of those wins have been away from home, beating both Macarthur FC and Wellington Phoenix 2-1.

They do not have a great record against Sydney and have lost the last two games in the harbour city 3-0.

Adelaide have scored 31 goals this season, with Archie Goodwin leading the way with seven, while Stefan Mauk has five.

With both sides among the goals and far from safe at the back, a high-scoring encounter looks to be on the cards.
