Tottenham v Crystal Palace: Premier League Monday preview

Tottenham play host to Crystal Palace in a London derby in the early hours of Monday morning as they try to end a four-game winless run in the Premier League.

Spurs head into this clash with the Eagles on a high after reaching the UEFA Europa League final, where they will face another side who have endured a dismal domestic season, Manchester United.

Palace, meanwhile, also have a cup final to plan for, as they face Manchester City in the FA Cup final in just under a week's time and they have gone five league matches without a win.

Postecoglou has to prioritise Bilbao date

Spurs' Australian head coach Ange Postecoglou really has little choice other than to make the UEFA Europa League final his top priority, with the winner of the match in Bilbao earning a place in the UEFA Champions League next season.

That may well lead to a shuffling of the pack for the visit of Palace and attacking midfielder James Maddison will definitely not feature after his season was ended by a knee injury.

The England international joins Lucas Bergvall, and Radu Dragusin on the sidelines, while skipper Heung-Min Son remains a major doubt for the game on Monday due to a foot problem which has kept him out of action for a month.

Key defenders Micky van de Ven and Cristian Romero are likely to be rested with the European mission more important.

In Son's absence, England striker Dominic Solanke has stepped up to the plate with four goals in his last five games, including strikes in both legs of the European semi-final success against Bodo/Glimt.

The 2-0 victory in the second leg also saw the Lilywhites keep a first clean sheet in five, while they have gone ten games without blanking an opponent in the Premier League and that was Man Utd back in mid-February.

Spurs head into this fixture as 2.62 outsiders to take all three points, while the in-form Solanke is 2.60 to find the net at anytime against the Eagles and the hosts are out at 4.50 to keep a clean sheet.

Wharton the only Eagles absentee

Like his Spurs counterpart Postecoglou, Palace head coach Oliver Glasner has plenty to ponder before selecting his starting XI for the game at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Midfielder Adam Wharton is the only definite absentee as he nurses an ankle problem, leaving Glasner with plenty of options as the countdown continues to the FA Cup final next weekend.

The Austrian will want to see a positive performance after seeing his side go five without a win in the league, although it is also true that they have drawn their last three and also put in a stunning display in their 3-0 FA Cup semi-final win over Nottingham Forest.

England international midfielder Eberechi Eze has been in dazzling form in recent weeks, netting in each of his last three appearances and he is 3.40 to find the net at anytime on Monday morning, while he is 2.10 to either score or provide an assist.

Jean-Philippe Mateta scored the only goal of the game when Palace edge out Spurs 1-0 at Selhurst Park in late October and another tight contest could be on the cards with both sets of players having their eyes on upcoming cup finals.
