Ipswich Town face another tough test of their Premier League credentials as they head to north London to face Tottenham Hotspur on Monday morning.
One of just two teams left in the English top flight without a win this season, Ipswich have found the step up from the Championship difficult so far.
However, they have managed to draw five of their 10 games in the Premier League this term and Spurs would be foolish to underestimate Kieran McKenna’s Tractor Boys when they meet at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
Spurs boss Ange Postecoglou gave fringe players a chance to impress in the UEFA Europa League in midweek and they almost pulled off a positive result at Galatasaray.
Ultimately the Lilywhites were to sink to a 3-2 defeat in Istanbul and their first dropped points of their European campaign.
Spurs will dust themselves off quickly and can look to try and secure their first back-to-back wins of the Premier League season when they host Ipswich.
The fact Postecoglou’s side have not been able to land back-to-back victories in the league this term tells its own story, with their lack of consistency meaning they are playing catch-up on the top four.
A 4-1 win over Aston Villa in their last Premier League game was certainly a confidence boost and Spurs are heavy favourites to back up that performance with three points against the Tractor Boys.
Ipswich Town have been a remarkable recent success story in English football, with back-to-back promotions seeing the Tractor Boys propelled back to the top flight.
Such a steep rise is difficult to manage but McKenna has worked wonders at Portman Road and rightly deserves all the plaudits that come his way.
While Ipswich are yet to pick up a win in the Premier League this term, fellow strugglers Crystal Palace were in the same position before landing their first victory of the campaign against Spurs late last month.
Tottenham have dropped points against the likes of Leicester City, Brighton and Crystal Palace this season, so Ipswich can head to north London with hope of causing another upset.
