UEFA Champions League: Game Week Seven - Thursday preview

The UEFA Champions League returns for 2025 and there is still a lot to be decided with some of the top sides sweating on their futures in the competition this season.

There are two rounds of the new league phase concept remaining and game week seven looks set to be a pivotal one.

Real Madrid, Manchester City and Paris Saint-Germain have all stuttered in the competition are not yet guaranteed a place in the knockout phase.

Here is our take on the pick of Thursday’s matches.

Football

Do or die for PSG and Manchester City

PSG and Manchester City are both in danger of failing to make the top 24 so the stakes could not be higher for them.

At the start of the league phase, both sides were expected to be setting the pace at the top of the ladder, but it could not be much further from the truth.

PSG currently sit in 25th spot but could jump above Man City, who are in 22nd, just one point ahead of them, and the meeting has the feel of a knock-out clash.

PSG have won just two games from six so far, while City have also failed to win in the last three UEFA Champions League matches.

City do have a good record against PSG in the competition however. They have won four of the seven meetings, drawing two and losing just one.

PSG will be hoping to get the job done on home soil and are priced at 2.50 to get a much-needed three points.

City are 2.62, while the draw is available at 3.60.

Bayern Munich pushing for top eight

Bayern Munich are still in with a shout of pushing their way into the top eight and booking a spot in the last 16.

But to do that they will need to pick up all three points against a Feyenoord side, who are all but assured a place in the knockout phase.

A high-scoring encounter could be on the cards as both sides have had no trouble finding the back of the net.

Feyenoord beat Sparta Prague 4-2 in game week six, while all six of their games in the UEFA Champions League have produced at least four goals.

Bayern also scored five goals in their last game against Shakhtar Donetsk, with Michael Olise grabbing two of them.

Over 2.5 goals in the game can be backed at 1.44, while under 2.5 goals is available at 2.75.

Arsenal out to secure top eight

Arsenal will look to continue their strong form in the UEFA Champions League when they face a Dinamo Zagreb who still have qualification hopes.

The Gunners sit third on the ladder heading into game week seven having picked up 13 points from a possible 18.

Not only that, Mikel Arteta’s side have conceded just two goals, and will be out to secure their place in the top eight with one game remaining.

They are very strong at home in the competition, so it is no surprise that Dinamo are a massive 17.00 to pull off a huge upset and win.

Dinamo showed they have the stomach for a fight when drawing 0-0 with Celtic in game week six and will give it their all at the Emirates Stadium.

With a home game against AC Milan to come, Dinamo have their work cut out to jump into the top 24.
