Premier League: Spurs to cut down Blades in finale

Tottenham will look to put a tough week behind them and finish the Premier League season on a high when they travel to already-relegated Sheffield United.

Spurs' hopes of finishing in the top four came to an end when they lost 2-0 to Manchester City in midweek, but their form over the last couple of months has been their undoing.

Ange Postecoglou’s men have lost five games out of the last six, allowing Aston Villa to claim the fourth Champions League place.

However, Postecoglou’s first season in charge of the club has to viewed as a success and it is important they finish with a win in South Yorkshire.

The Blades' return to the Championship was confirmed a long time ago, but they will still be playing for pride in front of their own supporters.

It means there is still all to play in the final game of the 2023/24 Premier League season.

Spurs look to end with a win

Postecoglou described the loss to the Citizens as the "worst experience" of his managerial career to date.

The Australian suggested that some Tottenham supporters wanted their side to lose in order to prevent arch-rivals Arsenal winning the title.

Tottenham still had a chance of making the top four heading into the City game, but all hopes disappeared following the loss.

Even so, they have only managed to beat relegated Burnley in the last six games, so the Lilywhites have been out of sorts for some weeks.

All eyes will soon turn to next season and how Postecoglou can make further progress with his side, but for now they have one more job to do.

Spurs have to avoid defeat against the Blades to ensure that they finish fifth and qualify for next season’s Europa League.

When the two sides met at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in September, it took a grandstand finish from the home side to snatch the win.

Spurs scored two goals deep into stoppage time to earn a 2-1 win.

Another 2-1 win for Tottenham on this occasion can be backed at 11.00, while over 2.5 goals in the game is available at 1.25.

Heung-Min Son missed a great chance to equalise against Manchester City in midweek and will be keen to bounce back.

The strike star can be backed at 4.50 to score the first goal of the game or 1.72 to score at anytime.

Lo Celso set to miss out for Spurs

Tottenham just have concerns over Giovani Lo Celso heading into the game against the Blades.

The Argentinian midfielder has been forced to sit out training with a knee injury and is rated as doubtful for the game.

Other than that, Postecoglou has confirmed that his squad will be the same as the one that faced Manchester City in midweek.
