Super Rugby Pacifica 2024 Outright Odds

With the 2024 Super Rugby Pacific campaign fast approaching, here’s a look at the contenders to claim the title this year.

Once again, the clubs from New Zealand are the hot fancies to battle it out in the grand final and it will be up to the others to try and cause an upset this term.

Let's take a look at the latest outright odds.

Unsurprisingly the current title holders and 12-time Super Rugby champions the Crusaders are the pre-season favourites to retain the title.

The Christchurch outfit finished second in the table at the end of the 2023 regular season, losing four of their 14 games.

However, as they have done so well in the past, the Crusaders turned up when it mattered in the finals.

Breezing past Fijian Drua in the quarterfinals 49-8, the Crusaders went on to thrash the Blues 52-15 in the semi-finals.

A 25-20 final win over the Chiefs in Hamilton secured that 12th Super Rugby crown and they are 3.00 to claim a 13th title in 2024.

With former Wales full-back Leigh Halfpenny joining an experienced side that includes fellow veterans Scott Barrett, Owen Franks and Ryan Crotty, the Crusaders will take some stopping.

Last season could and maybe should have been the Chiefs’ year.

Playing a scintillating brand of running rugby, with New Zealand international Damian McKenzie at the heart of it, the Chiefs finished top of the table at the end of the 2023 regular season with just one defeat.

The Chiefs were so close to landing the title but in the end, it was the Crusaders’ experience that saw the Canterbury outfit lift the trophy.

Expect the Chiefs to learn from last season’s heartbreaks and the Hamilton side are 3.50 to go all the way this time around.

The Blues looked strong in 2023 but came up short in the semi-finals with that heavy defeat to the Crusaders.

Finishing third at the end of the regular season, the Auckland side showed they can be serious contenders again in 2024.

Certainly don’t rule out the Blues, who are 5.50 in the Outright market.

The Hurricanes were edged out by the Brumbies in the quarter-finals in 2023 and will be looking to make the strides needed to compete with the likes of the Crusaders and Chiefs.

Nine wins from their 14 regular season games last year was a solid return, and as the second-highest scorers (480 points) in that spell, the Hurricanes offer good value at 9.00 to go all the way in 2024.

The ACT Brumbies were the highest-finishing Australian franchise on the ladder in fourth place in 2024.

Keeping hold of head coach Stephen Larkham, with the former fly-half linked with the Wallabies job, has been a huge boost for the team.

This is a settled side that know what they need to do to challenge the Kiwi clubs and the Canberra outfit are 10.00 to win its first Super Rugby title since 2004.
