Super Rugby: Rebels and Waratahs back in action

In the blink of an eye we already look ahead to Round 3 of this season’s Super Rugby campaign, with Friday night seeing the Rebels on the road at Moana Pasifika and the Waratahs hosting the Highlanders.

The Rebels will be looking to build on their impressive 48-34 win over the Force in Round 2, when the Melbourne outfit make the trip to FMG Stadium Waikato.

Meanwhile, the Waratahs also impressed last time out with a 37-24 win over reigning champions the Crusaders and next host the Highlanders at Allianz Stadium.

Rebels ready for Hamilton clash

The Rebels claimed the points and the bragging rights last time out against the Force at AAMI Park and will be looking for a similar attacking performance on the road.

Filip Dauguna bagged himself a brace in that last outing in Melbourne and is available at 2.10 to score anytime against Moana Pasifika this week.

Moana head into this game after their own high-scoring victory over rivals Fijian Drua with a 39-36 win in Round 2.

The Rebels will be hoping to maintain their perfect record against Moana Pasifika, after winning both of their two meetings last season.

Scoring at least four tries in both of those games last year, the Rebels have shown they have the ability to get at this Moana defence.

The Rebels are available at 1.91 to fall on the right side of a -6 handicap in the line market.

Waratahs must build on great Crusaders win

. Where: Allianz Stadium, Sydney
. When: 18:35 (AEST), Friday 8th March 2024
. How to watch: Stan Sport
. Odds: Waratahs 1.60, Highlanders 2.35

In the shock of the second round, the Waratahs enjoyed a day to remember with their victory over the Crusaders.

Now Tahs head back to the home comforts of the Allianz Arena for another test against Kiwi opposition in the form of the Highlanders.

The Dunedin outfit were on the wrong side of a 37-29 scoreline against the Blues last time out and coach Riki Flutey will be looking for a response on Friday night.

At 2.35, the Highlanders are the underdogs ahead of their trip to Sydney, having lost their last two meetings with the Waratahs.

The Tahs will be eager to get back to winning ways at Allianz Stadium, after a shock 33-24 defeat in their last game there snapped a four-match winning streak at the venue.

It’s the Waratahs who are 1.60 to claim the victory on Friday night to push them to the top end of the Super Rugby ladder in this early stage of the season.
