Super Rugby: Reds out for Force revenge

Having suffered a shock defeat at the hands of Western Force earlier this season, revenge might well be a motivator for the Reds when they meet again on Saturday in Brisbane.

The Force have shown signs of significant progress this year and still harbour hopes of finishing in the top eight.

However, the Perth outfit face a mighty test at Suncorp Stadium, against a Reds side who will be looking to build up some winning momentum ahead of the finals.

Reds need response after Drua defeat

Playing Fijian Drua on the road has become one of the toughest away games Super Rugby Pacific has to offer and the Reds were the latest side to fall short at ANZ Stadium in Suva last time out.

The Reds suffered a 28-19 defeat in the Fijian capital and will be looking for a response in the home comforts of Suncorp Stadium this weekend.

Winning their last four games against the Force in Queensland, the Reds will be confident of getting back to winning ways on Saturday.

The hosts are the 1.16 favourites going into the game in Brisbane, while in the Line market the Reds are 1.91 with -13 points.

When it comes to the Anytime tryscorer market, Matt Faessler is the shortest price at 1.72 to go over for the hosts, while the 25-year-old hooker is 9.50 to score the opening try of the game.

Force eyeing impressive double

Having lost their previous three games against the Reds, the Force showed just how far they have come in their last meeting with a 40-31 victory in Perth.

The Force have only done the double of the Reds in a single season twice in their history, in both 2014 and 2017.

Impressing with a 27-7 win over fellow Aussie opposition last time out in the form of the Waratahs, the Force have put themselves in a position to finish in the top eight.

With a tough game against the Brumbies in Perth in their final game of the regular season, the Force will be doing all they can to get points in Brisbane, while hoping Drua get nothing from their trip to the Highlanders.

Bayley Kuenzle is a man in form and is worth keeping an eye on to score a try at Suncorp Stadium this weekend.

The former Brumbies utility back has scored a try in each of his last two matches and also bagged himself a brace the last time these sides met in March.

Kuenzle is 2.87 to score a try on Saturday, while the 25-year-old is 19.00 to go over for the very first try of the game in Brisbane.
