T20 World Cup: Australia out to build on winning start

Australia will be out to make it three wins from three when they take on Namibia in the T20 World Cup on Wednesday.

Mitch Marsh’s side have got the tournament off to a great start following wins over Oman and England and are the hot fancies to knock over Namibia in the next game.

There is still plenty of cricket to be played, but Australia are looking good and are priced at 3.75 to go on and win the T20 World Cup.

The wins need to keep coming and there can be no room for complacency when they take on a Namibia side that have won one and lost one.

Aussie could make changes

Australia could make one or two changes to the side that beat England, when they face Namibia on Wednesday.

The Aussies fielded their strongest side as they defeated the old enemy by 36 runs, but could be tempted to tinker against Namibia.

There is the theory that sticking with a winning team is the way to go, but it is a long tournament, and the selectors could utilise a very strong squad.

Mitchell Starc showed no signs of his calf issue giving him trouble against England, but could be one player to make way.

Pat Cummins came back in to replace Nathan Ellis against England and took a couple of wickets, but it remains to be seen if he will keep his place.

There is a chance Ellis could come back in to replace Starc or Cummins, and he is priced at 5.00 to be Team – Top Bowler if he does get the nod.

Adam Zampa also caught the eye with two wickets against England and can be backed at 4.00 to be Team – Top Bowler.

Top order shines in win

Australia’s top order got them off to a good start against England to help set up the win.

No-one went to make a big score but Travis Head and David Warner put on 70 runs for the first wicket, scoring 34 and 39 runs respectively.

Marsh (35), Glenn Maxwell (28) and Marcus Stoinis (30) also scored well as Australia reached 201-7.

Warner can be backed at 3.75 to be Team – Top Batter once again, while Head is available at 3.60.

Erasmus a threat for Namibia

Namibia won their opening game against Oman and also pushed Scotland all the way before slipping to defeat.

Namibia do have some batsmen that could pose a threat to the Australian bowling attack.

Gerhard Erasmus is one of them. The captain scored 52 runs off 31 deliveries in the five-wicket loss to Scotland.

He can be backed at 5.50 to be their Team – Top Batter against Australia, while Niko Davin is available at 4.00.
