T20 World Cup: Australia schedule

The T20 World Cup 2024 is fast approaching and Australia are one of the hot fancies to win the tournament that will be played in the West Indies and USA.

The Aussies are the current world champions in the one-day format of the game, and will be going all out to add the T20 World Cup to the trophy cabinet.

They did just that in 2021, winning it for the first time, before England won on Australian soil to claim their second title in 2022.

Australia will fancy their chances of winning the T20 World Cup, and can be backed at 4.50 to do just that.

India look the team to beat at 4.33, while defending champions England are priced at 5.50.

It is all set up to be an exciting tournament with plenty of cricket to be played.

Let’s take a look at Australia’s schedule for the T20 World Cup 2024.

T20 World Cup format

The 20 nations that have qualified for the T20 World Cup have been split in to four groups of five.

The Group stage will be a single round-robin format, and the top two teams in each group will then progress through to the Super 8 stage.

The Group stage will begin on 1st June, with the final group stage fixture played on 16th June.

The Super 8 Stage will consist of two groups of four and the top two teams from each group will then head into the knock-out stage and semi-finals.

The Super 8 stage will run from 20th to 24th June.

The knock-out stage will see the winner of Group 1 take on the runner-up from Group 2 in the first semi-final on 26th June.

The second semi-final will be played on 27th June between the winner of Group 2 and the runner-up from Group 1.

The final will be played on 28th June.

Australia schedule

Australia will be taking it one stage at a time, and first up they will need to negotiate their way through the group stage.

The Aussies are in Group B, along with England, Namibia, Scotland and Oman.

Making their way through the group should be a formality and Australia are priced at 1.80 to win it, while England can be backed at 2.00.

Next best are Namibia at 51.00.

Australia will play their first group game on 6th June when they take on Oman at the Kensington Oval in Bridgetown, West Indies.

Then on 9th June it is the big showdown with the old enemy England, with the match again taking place at the Kensington Oval.

They will then switch to the Vivian Richards Stadium to take on Namibia on 12th June, before wrapping up the group stage against Scotland on 16th June.
