The 2025 French Open is edging closer and Spain’s Carlos Alcaraz heads into the Grand Slam event as the pre-tournament favourite.
Paris is preparing to host the second Grand Slam of the year, following Jannik Sinner’s victory at the 2025 Australian Open.
Sinner and Alcaraz are the two favourites heading into the French Open, while a certain Novak Djokovic is not a player to be discounted.
Carlos Alcaraz - 2.20
Jannik Sinner - 3.50
Novak Djokovic - 8.00
Alexander Zverev - 8.50
Casper Ruud - 13.00
Stefanos Tsitsipas - 17.00
Jack Draper - 17.00
Holger Rune - 21.00
Daniil Medvedev - 34.00
Carlos Alcaraz - 2.20
The landscape of the French Open has changed following the retirement of the King of Clay, Rafael Nadal.
Fellow Spaniard has picked up the mantle and is the reigning French Open champion heading into this year’s tournament.
Beating the German Alexander Zverev in the final last season, the 22-year-old Alcaraz will be going all out to retain his title and claim what would be his fifth Grand Slam crown.
Jannik Sinner - 3.50
Potentially standing in Alcaraz’s way is the Italian Sinner, who will have taken plenty of confidence from his performance at the Australian Open at the start of the year.
While Sinner has claimed title on the hard court surfaces at the Australian Open and US Open, he is yet to get past the semi-final stage at either Wimbledon or the French Open.
Sinner beat Alcaraz in the 2022 Croatia Open to win his first clay court title, so he knows he can better the Spaniard on this surface on his day.
Looking to make it two wins from two in the Grand Slams this year, Sinner is available at 3.50 to claim his maiden French Open title this season.
Novak Djokovic - 8.00
While Alcaraz and Sinner are the hot fancies going into the French Open, it would be remiss to underestimate the 24-time Grand Slam champion Djokovic.
Despite turning 38 years old later this month, the three-time French Open winner continues to be a force to be reckoned with on the circuit.
His experience and resilience have seen him overcome countless challengers over the years.
While the younger stars coming through may carry momentum, Djokovic’s ability to rise to the occasion, particularly in Grand Slams, makes him a real threat.
Writing him off would be a mistake many have made before, often to their regret.
