The first week of the 2025 French Open is almost over and both Carlos Alcaraz and Iga Swiatek are still on track to successfully defend their singles titles.
Second seed Alcaraz remains the market leader in the men's singles outright odds at 1.83, although Jannik Sinner has appeared to be in superb form and poses a huge threat to the Spaniard at 2.62.
Australia's last representative in the men's draw at the fourth-round stage was 25th seed Alexei Popyrin, but he was beaten by American 12th seed Tommy Paul.
Top seed Aryna Sabalenka is the market leader in the women's singles outright odds at 3.40, with four-time champion Swiatek only narrowly further out at 3.60, while Russian rising star Mirra Andreeva has come in to 4.50.
Next up for Andreeva is a showdown with the all-new Aussie number one Daria Kasatkina, who is 51.00 to be crowned French Open champion.
Carlos Alcaraz - 1.83
Jannik Sinner - 2.62
Novak Djokovic - 8.50
Alexander Zverev - 13.00
Jack Draper - 15.00
Carlos Alcaraz - 1.83
Carlos Alcaraz remains the hot fancy to triumph in Paris, but he will have to up his level after looking a little shaky in his progress to the fourth round, where he faces 13th seed Ben Shelton.
The reigning French Open and Wimbledon champion dropped a set in his second-round victory over Fábián Marozsán and did likewise in a tough 6-1 6-3 4-6 6-4 win in round three over Bosnian Damir Džumhur.
He cannot afford slips in concentration as the tournament hots up, but he is boosted by both seventh seed Casper Ruud and fourth seed Taylor Fritz having already crashed out in his half of the draw.
Jannik Sinner - 2.62
Top seed Jannik Sinner came into this tournament after a lengthy absence from the game, but the big-hitting Italian has shown few signs of any rustiness as he has yet to drop a set in the French capital.
He was particularly fearsome in the third round as he demolished Jiří Lehečka 6-0 6-1 6-2 and next up is a clash with 17th seed Andrey Rublev, with any opponent likely to have to pull out the performance of a lifetime to end the Italian's hopes.
Novak Djokovic - 8.50
Novak Djokovic has also yet to drop a set as he attempts to win a 25th Grand Slam title, but he may be tested more fully against Briton Cameron Norrie - who ousted Daniil Medvedev in his opener - in the fourth round.
The veteran Serb is in the same half of the draw as Sinner, Jack Draper and Alexander Zverev, so faces a massive challenge if he is to make the French Open final for an eighth time.
Aryna Sabalenka - 3.40
Iga Swiatek - 3.60
Mirra Andreeva - 4.50
Coco Gauff - 6.00
Daria Kasatkina - 51.00
Aryna Sabalenka - 3.40
Aryna Sabalenka has dropped a mere ten games in making her way through to the fourth round and is looking every inch a Paris champion in waiting.
However, a tricky test against 16th seed Amanda Anisimova comes up next and the top half of the draw also contains Iga Swiatek and Qinwen Zheng, so the Belarusian will have to remain at her very best if she is to triumph on the red clay.
Iga Swiatek - 3.60
Iga Swiatek has dominated in Paris in recent times, with four titles in five years and she is currently the three-time defending champion.
The Pole has yet to drop a set in the French capital, but next up is a potential classic match-up against former Wimbledon champion Elena Rybakina, with their head-to-head record reading four wins each.
Their two previous meetings on clay both went the way of Rybakina, so should Swiatek progress this time around, she will take a huge amount of confidence into the latter stages of the tournament.
Mirra Andreeva - 4.50
Sixth seed Mirra Andreeva lies in the bottom half of the draw and therefore appears to have a slightly less testing route to the final, however, a fourth-round clash with Aussie Daria Kasatkina is a major hurdle.
Also lying in wait in the bottom half are the American trio of Coco Gauff, Jessica Pegula and Madison Keys - seeded second, third and seventh respectively - so Andreeva will certainly not have it easy.
She made the semi-finals in Paris 12 months ago, so will clearly be confident that she has a good opportunity to land her first Grand Slam title.
