The Everest: Date, how to watch, past winners, latest odds and more

The Everest is part of the Sydney Spring Racing Carnival and is regarded as the world's most valuable race on turf.

The prize money on offer is set at a staggering $20,000,000, with 12 of the fastest horses battling it out over 1200m at Royal Randwick for a big chunk of it.

The winner of The Everest picks up a tidy $7,000,000 in prize money.

The Everest is for horses aged three-years-old and upwards and is raced under weight-for-age conditions.

Here is all you need to know about The Everest.

The slot holders, who sign a three-year-contract to race in The Everest, negotiate with the horse owners and trainers over how the prize money will be split.

The Everest past winners

The 2023 winner of The Everest was Think About It, for trainer Joseph Pride and jockey Sam Clipperton.

Redzel was the first ever winner of The Everest in 2017 and returned in 2018 to successfully defend the title.

Other past winners of The Everest are Yes Yes Yes, Classique Legend, Nature Strip and Giga Kick.
