Aussie Rules: Tigers target three in a row

Richmond have boosted their top-eight hopes with two wins on the bounce and will be out to make it three against St Kilda on Saturday.

It has been a big few weeks for the Tigers after premiership coach Damien Hardwick resigned from the job, but the players have responded well.

They now sit six points away from the top-eight and are still in the mix to play finals at the end of the season. Richmond will face a tough test in their latest assignment when they take on a St Kilda side that sit fifth on the ladder but are still searching for consistency.

A few weeks ago this may have looked a sure thing for the Saints, but Richmond are revitalised and will be ready to run them close.

Tigers back on track

Richmond were very impressive as they put Fremantle to the sword in the west last week and it would appear that a new voice is working well.

Damien Hardwick stepped aside after winning three premierships with the Tigers, and for now at least, interim coach Andrew McQualter has got them back on track.

There was no shame in losing his first game in charge against Port Adelaide by 10 points and they have since gone to beat GWS and Fremantle, both on the road.

The Tigers looked back to their best against a Fremantle side that had won four on the bounce, and they will take heaps of confidence from the win.

Key forward Jack Riewoldt booted a couple of goals against the Dockers and is priced at 1.09 to score anytime on Saturday. He is also available at 8.00 to kick the first of the game.

Tim Taranto is also on fire for the Tigers. The midfielder is averaging 31.5 disposals and 6.5 score involvements a game. He also ranks high when it comes to tackles made and contested possessions.

Now the Tigers just need to put it all together in front of their home fans as they face their toughest test yet.

St Kilda search for consistency

St Kilda remain well in the mix for a spot in the top four and will be looking to string back-to-back wins together for the first time in a while.

The win one, lose one, sequence is costing them and they need to snap it this weekend. St Kilda edged out Sydney by 14 points at the SCG last weekend and now need to back it up.

They boast a good recent record against the Tigers, winning the last two, including a 40-point win the last time they met at the SCG in 2021.

The Saints are a much-improved outfit since then under the leadership of coach Ross Lyon and they will be out to keep the good run going.

Their one performance at the MCG so far this season saw them beat Essendon by 18 points. They are priced at 6.50 to win by 13-24 points on Saturday.

Max King is in top form after booting three goals in the win over Sydney and is priced at 7.00 to kick the first of the game.
