Premier League: Tottenham's festive fixtures - a look at Big Ange's test

Tottenham have returned to winning ways with crucial back-to-back wins and now Ange Postecoglou will be hoping the run continues over the busy festive period.

The Christmas period is always hectic in England and this season is no different, with Spurs facing three games in the space of a week.

Spurs are sitting in fifth place, just one point out of the top four, and a good Christmas period can bolster their Champions League hopes.

Postecoglou’s men can be backed at 2.62 to finish in the top four and for that to happen they need to keep churning out the wins.

Let’s take a look at what the festive period holds for the men from North London.

Tottenham v Everton

Two of the three games to be played over Christmas are at home, so it is an absolute must that Tottenham win both of them, starting with Everton on Sunday 24th December.

A few weeks ago a home match with Everton would have looked a nailed on three points as the Toffees were struggling for form.

However, the men from Merseyside have won their last four Premier League games on the bounce and will be full of confidence heading into the game.

They have picked up victories over Chelsea and Newcastle and have also won on the road at Burnley and Nottingham Forest.

Not only that, they have kept four clean sheets in the process, so the clash with Everton will be a tough test.

Spurs are still the hot fancies at 1.75 to win the game, while the Toffees are available at 4.00. The draw is 4.20.

Brighton v Tottenham

Next up for Tottenham is a short trip to the seaside to take on Brighton on Friday 29th December.

Spurs can be backed at 2.80 to get the three points, but Brighton are slightly shorter at 2.40, while the draw is 3.40.

The Seagulls are very strong at home, losing just the one game, and that was on the very first day of the season against West Ham United.

They have drawn a lot at home, including a 2-2 result against Liverpool, but they have picked up wins and did see off Newcastle 3-1.

It will be a big test for Tottenham to go there and get a win and even though three points will be the target, a point would not be a bad result.

Tottenham v Bournemouth

Tottenham complete the festive period with another home game against a Bournemouth side who currently sit in 14th spot on the ladder.

The Cherries got the season off to a shocker when losing their opening four games, but are now unbeaten in the last five and will be full of confidence.

During that run they won 3-0 away at Manchester United, 2-0 at Crystal Palace and 3-1 at Sheffield united, so they know how to get the job done on the road.

The game is another potential banana skin for the Lilywhites and there can be no room for complacency.
