UEFA Champions League play-off 2nd leg Wednesday preview

Wednesday morning provides the first four UEFA Champions League play-off second legs, as eight teams battle it out for a place in the last 16 of Europe’s elite club competition.

With two games taking place in Italy, one from Germany and one from Portugal, there are expected to be plenty of thrills and spills across the continent as teams look to keep their UEFA Champions League hopes alive.

Football

AC Milan v Feyenoord

AC Milan find themselves a goal down going into their second leg against Feyenoord with Igor Paixao’s goal the difference between the teams in the Netherlands.

The Rossoneri had more possession and four more shots on target in that game at De Kuip and will be feeling confident for Wednesday’s return leg at the San Siro.

Milan are 1.40 to win, 4.50 to draw and 7.50 to lose against Feyenoord.

Atalanta v Club Brugge

Atalanta are another Italian side with work to do, as they too find themselves a goal down after a 2-1 defeat at Club Brugge last week.

A controversial stoppage-time penalty scored by Gustaf Nilsson proved to be the difference in that game, as Brugge edged the first leg on Belgian soil.

Club Brugge have failed to win any of their last four away games in all competitions and they are 6.00 for the win at Atalanta, 4.33 to draw and 6.00 to lose at Gewiss Stadium.

Bayern Munich v Celtic

Bayern Munich hold a 2-1 lead going into the second leg against Celtic at Allianz Arena and are firm favourites to progress through to the knockout stages.

Celtic rode their luck at times at Parkhead and now they will hope to end a 12-game winless run on the road in the UEFA Champions League.

The Hoops are the 15.00 underdogs to win in Bavaria, with the draw at 8.00 and a Bayern Munich win at 1.14.

Benfica v Monaco

Once again, it’s a one-goal difference between the teams ahead of the game in Lisbon, with Benfica one goal to the good after the first leg in Monaco.

Keeping clean sheets in their last two games, Benfica’s defence has looked solid of late and they are the 1.80 favourites to win the second-leg.

Monaco are the 3.90 underdogs to leave the Portuguese capital with a win on the night, with the draw currently 4.00.
