However the 2021 and 2022 editions of the Underwood Stakes were held at Sandown Racecourse in Melbourne.

The total amount of prize money for the Underwood Stakes stands at a very tidy $750,000.
The winner will earn $450,000, while second place will take home $135,000 and $67,500 will go to third place.
The top eight all earn prize money, with sixth, seventh and eighth all picking up $15,000 for their efforts.
The Underwood Stakes was first raced in 1924 and won by a horse named Whittier, who also went on to win the 1925 edition.
The Underwood Stakes was a Principal Race initially, before being upgraded to a Group 1 race in 1979.
It was originally raced over 1600m, and there have been various distances throughout its history.
From 1994 onwards, the Underwood Stakes has been raced over 1800m.
Alligator Blood has won the last two editions of the Underwood Stakes for trainers Gai Waterhouse and Adrian Bott.
There have been some famous winners of the race, including the legendary Phar Lap and Ajax, who won the Underwood Stakes on three occasions.
Black Heart Bart also won the Underwood Stakes in both 2016 and 2019.
Mr Brightside and Place Du Carrousel are both priced at 6.50 to win the 2024 edition of the Underwood Stakes.
