Aussies dominate Sri Lanka

Australia have a great record against Sri Lanka, winning all seven of its Women’s T20Is against them.

Three of those wins have been in the T20 World Cup, and unless there is a huge upset, look set to make it four.

Australia head into the match on the back of a win after defeating the West Indies by 35 runs in their final warm-up match on Tuesday night.

After losing the toss and being put into bat, Australia made 144/8 off their 20 overs, with Annabel Sutherland top-scoring with 38 runs from 28 deliveries.

The performance of Sutherland was particularly impressive as she came in to bat with her side struggling at 59/5.

Ashleigh Gardner also made 31 runs, while Alana King finished on 21 not-out.

Meanwhile, Phoebe Litchfield and Grace Harris, who have been struggling with injuries, both sat out the match.

They now have a few extra days to recover and all eyes will be on them to see if they can make the Sri Lanka clash.

Sri Lanka in top form

Sri Lanka will already have played one game before they come up against Australia.

They get their campaign underway on Friday and can be backed at 1.53 to beat Pakistan, who are priced at 2.50.

If Sri Lanka can get the win under their belt it should give them confidence heading into the game against Australia.

Sri Lanka enter the tournament in good form having won their last three warm-up matches against Ireland, Bangladesh and Scotland.

Hasini Perera is a player to keep an eye on after she smashed 43 runs in the win over Bangladesh.
